House endorses expedited treatment for gonorrhea, Chlamydia - OregonLive.com

"Antibiotic treatment for gonorrhea or Chlamydia would become more readily available in Oregon if a bill passed by the House Monday becomes law.

House Bill 3022 would allow doctors and medical practitioners who diagnose patients with gonorrhea or Chlamydia to prescribe antibiotics to the patient's partners without an examination of the partners.

At least 11 other states make this kind of 'expedited partner therapy' available, said Rep. Michael Dembrow, D-Portland."
