What's worse than gonorrhea?

According to KTVA-TV, public health officials say Alaska is in the middle of an "epidemic of gonorrhea," and they worry that the disease may be getting more resistant to treatment. Drug resistant forms of the bacteria are being increasingly encountered in the wild, and the bacteria is notorious for adapting to efforts to fight it. "Gonorrhea is a tricky little guy," said one health expert. So far none of the resistant strains have been found in Alaska, but knowing for certain is complicated by the type of testing done to diagnose cases.
