"Chlamydia and gonorrhea are the most frequently reported sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in Canada and affect more young people aged 15 to 24 than any other age group. From1997 to 2007, women in this age group showed an increase of 84 per cent in chlamydia infections and an 88 per cent increase in gonorrhea."
